Ladies of the Lake, the garden club of Buckhead’s Peachtree Heights East neighborhood, invites you to our 31st Garden Party on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Our theme will be celebrating our newly restored Duck Pond Park. The party is adults-only with an estimated attendance of 300. Net proceeds from the Garden Party will help fund special projects and maintenance in the Duck Pond Park.
The Duck Pond Park is located in Peachtree Heights East that includes 640 private residences as well as the Cathedral of Christ the King and Christ the King School. The Garden Party attracts neighbors in Garden Hills, Peachtree Hills, Peachtree Heights West and beyond. The Duck Pond Park is one of the most serene, natural environments in Atlanta. Set on nearly 7.5 acres of green space and rolling terrain, the Park was created in 1909. The original developer deeded this green space in trust for the use of the neighbors in the 1930s. This private park is open to the public and is maintained by the neighborhood association in Peachtree Heights East. No funding comes from the City of Atlanta.
Over the years the Garden Party has become a signature social event for all who enjoy the Duck Pond Park. Held on the Park’s peninsula overlooking the two-acre Duck Pond, friends and neighbors will gather for a festive party in late afternoon. Enjoy fun eats and drinks while visiting with friends and meeting new ones. A new element will be the Duck Pond Store, including such favorites as the wine auction, dinners at our favorite restaurants, vacation homes, private parties planned just for the Garden Party and all the cool stuff in Cash and Carry.
